Grip Responsibilities

The Grip is a skilled technician who works on the set-up, operation and maintenance of lighting, sound and rigging equipment for live events and shows. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the technical aspects of the production, as well as assisting the director, stage manager and other crew members. They may also perform tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, moving scenery and props, laying cables and operating lifts and cranes.
